I was hanging out with some friends over the weekend. We were sitting around the dining room table eating... breakfast. Aviva asked "What do you guys wanna do today?" so I said "Wanna make an album?". The next 7 hours were spent choosing from Leora and I's songwriting repertoire until a story began to emerge. The story became so visceral that it was impossible to ignore and we all knew exactly which song had to come next. The origin of the name comes from the story's reminiscence to many Truman Capote stories. He wrote primarily in the 40's and 50's about the deep south and more accurately he wrote about timeless, place-less concepts, like the loss of innocence and coming of age. So take a listen, close your eyes if you want to (Kris certainly did as we were making the album because he was recovering from eye surgery), and let the story unfold however it chooses for you.
